The Juventus team is having a season well above all expectations. However, in that series Rytas played brilliantly. They were highly efficient offensively, winning the first game 92-84, while in the second game on the road they pulled off a major surprise with a 101-95 victory, eliminating one of the main title contenders. The magnitude of that upset was highlighted by the fact that Rytas immediately parted ways with coach Giedrius Zibenas despite winning a European trophy this season. Juventus then entered the semifinal series against Neptunas as underdogs. However, right from the start they delivered a dominant performance on the road, winning 96-83 and securing a crucial away break. In the next game, after a big comeback in the fourth quarter, they won 86-83 and moved one step away from reaching the final, something almost nobody expected before the playoffs. They failed to close the series in the third game, however, losing 102-84 on the road. They struggled to find a solution for Neptunas’ strong offense, which cut the series deficit to 2-1. However, they have not met expectations in the semifinal series so far. Despite having a great opportunity to reach the final, things are not looking good for Neptunas at the moment. They played poorly in the first two games and allowed Juventus to take a 2-0 lead in the series, putting themselves in a very difficult position. In the third game, however, they showed what they are capable of, winning 102-84 and keeping their hopes alive for a comeback. Arnas Velicka delivered an excellent performance with 20 points, six assists, and four rebounds. Alongside him, Mindaugas Girdziunas scored 16 points, Donatas Tarolis added 15, and Zane Waterman contributed 14 points. Rihards Lomazs, the team’s leading scorer, once again underperformed and has struggled significantly throughout the series. His performance could be one of the key factors in this game, as Neptunas will need him to play at a high level if they want to force their way back into the series.
