Khem Birch, Fenerbahce’s center, has officially extended his contract with the Turkish club for another year, it was announced today.
Although there was talk from the start of the transfer window that the Canadian might leave Fenerbahce this summer, that will not happen, as he has received a new contract.

- INTERVIEW: Darko Rajakovic – Iisalo is a big thing for European basketball, we had the opportunity to grow with Ingram
- INTERVIEW: Dusan Alimpijevic – What I’m experiencing with Besiktas is beyond anything
Khem Birch was a very important piece in Sarunas Jasikevicius’s team last season when they won the EuroLeague, Turkish Super League, and Turkish Cup.
In the EuroLeague, he played 36 games, averaging 3.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. In the Turkish Super League, he had better stats, averaging 5.9 points and 4.1 rebounds over 28 games. He stood out especially in the final series against Besiktas, where he averaged 11.2 points and 5.2 rebounds, earning him the MVP award for the final series.
Before Fenerbahce, he also played for Girona, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Olympiacos, Usak Sportif, and Sioux Falls Skyforce during his career.
Interestingly, during the current transfer window, Fenerbahce has signed only Mikael Jantunen from Paris, while the club has seen the departures of Marko Guduric, Nigel Hayes-Davis, Errick McCollum, and Dyshawn Pierre.
