LeBron James has officially closed the chapter on his Los Angeles Lakers tenure, but the four-time NBA champion is still keeping his next destination a mystery.
During an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City, LeBron James reflected on his eight seasons with the Lakers, including the 2020 NBA championship, while making it clear that his focus is now on the next stage of his historic career.
At 41 years old, James is preparing for an unprecedented 24th NBA season, but despite weeks of speculation surrounding his future, he has not revealed where he will continue his career.
“Shout out to my former team,” James said. “That was an unbelievable ride, and I am looking forward to what comes next as I wind down my journey. It’s going to be fun wherever I land.”

With James entering unrestricted free agency, several contenders have been linked with a potential move for the future Hall of Famer.
While fans at Fanatics Fest attempted to get a reaction from him by shouting different destinations, James acknowledged some of the teams that have been mentioned in recent rumors.
“I’ve heard Warriors. I’ve heard Philly, Miami,” the four-time champion told the crowd.
James then laughed off the constant speculation surrounding his future, refusing to provide any indication about where he could play next season.

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton attempted to get an answer from James during the conversation, but LeBron avoided revealing any details about his future.
“We already talked about this in the back…” James said, drawing laughs from the crowd.
James also joked about Haliburton’s previous attempts to recruit him, explaining that he responded to his messages with only laughing emojis.

“Every time I leave my house, or I leave my room, or if I’m on the road during the NBA games and I leave my hotel, I understand that I’m not just representing myself, and I hold that responsibility very high,” James said.
