In Granada’s final home game of the season, Luka Bozic matched legendary records previously set by Aryvdas Sabonis and Marc Gasol.
The arena in Granada gave an emotional Luka Bozic a spectacular send-off with huge ovations and chants of “MVP, MVP” after the Croatian forward accomplished something almost unimaginable in Round 33.

With that performance, Luka Bozic reached 12 consecutive games with a PIR of at least 27, tying the record for the longest such streak in Liga Endesa history.
For now, he shares that achievement with a true legend. More than 34 years have passed since Aryvdas Sabonis recorded the same streak, which came between January and March of 1992.
The incredible run by Granada’s star began in Round 22, when he scored 33 points against Manresa. Since then, he has only dipped below a PIR of 30 a few times, while posting unbelievable averages:

- 8 rebounds
- 4.1 assists
- 63.6% shooting on two-pointers
- 41.7% from three-point range
- 86.6% from the free-throw line
- 32.6 PIR
Besides Aryvdas Sabonis, who achieved this kind of streak three different times, and now Luka Bozic, only one other player has recorded a double-digit streak of games with a PIR of at least 27 — legendary Walter Berry, who had 11 straight such performances in 1991.
But that is not all. Bozic also tied the record held by Marc Gasol for the most games with a PIR above 30 during a single regular season in this century. The Spanish legend from Sant Boi had 15 such games during the 2007/08 season, and the Croatian forward has now matched that number in the 2025/26 campaign.
Considering Granada still has one more game left to play, against San Pablo Burgos, Bozic could break the record outright and take sole possession of first place if he delivers another performance similar to the ones he has consistently produced this season.
Behind them are Tanoka Beard (2001/02), Lou Roe (2003/04), and Rudy Fernandez (2007/08), all of whom finished with 11 games featuring a PIR above 30. The closest players to Luka Bozic this season are Mario Hezonja and David DeJulius, but they each have only four such games, which makes the Croatian’s accomplishment sound even more incredible.
With an average PIR of 24.3, the Croatian would also surpass the all-time Granada record held by Curtis Borchardt, who averaged 23.8 during the 2006/07 season. At the same time, it would become the best individual statistical season in Liga Endesa since the averages posted by Marc Gasol (27.8) and Rudy Fernandez (25.1) in the 2007/08 campaign.
The biggest disappointment is that all of these historic performances will remain only in the record books, while Granada will not be part of Liga Endesa next season after being mathematically relegated long ago. Luka Bozic was truly the lone bright spot of this team, and if there is one positive thing Granada fans will remember from the 2025/26 season, it will certainly be the name of the Croatian national team player.
