Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially announced the signing of Brazilian center Marcio Santos. The 22-year-old joins the Israeli powerhouse on a three-year contract, following a solid season with German side Ulm.
The move had been in the works for some time, and now the promising big man is set to bolster Maccabi’s frontcourt. Santos averaged 7.6 points and 3.2 rebounds across 17 EuroCup appearances last season. In the German Bundesliga, he posted 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds over 45 games.

Before moving to Europe in 2024, Santos spent six seasons with Franca in his native Brazil, where he began his professional career back in 2018.
“I’m very happy to join the legendary club of Maccabi, and become a part of Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv. I can’t wait to bring my enthusiasm and game to Tel Aviv and help the team in every aspect I can. I’m counting the minutes until I could wear the honorable yellow jersey. Let’s go Maccabi,” Santos said.
Oded Kattash also expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the Brazilian center to the club.
“Marcio Santos is a versatile player who can help us a lot. He can finish plays near the rim and step outside to shoot. He plays with passion and enthusiasm that suit us, and knows how to show toughness and defensive aggressiveness.”
Santos becomes Maccabi’s fourth summer addition, following the arrivals of T.J. Leaf, Gur Lavy, and Oshae Brissett. On the other side, the club has parted ways with several players from last season, including Levi Randolph, Jasiel Rivero, Nathan Mensah, Marial Shayok, Jake Cohen, and Trevion Williams.
