Mersin vs Manisa Preview
Last season, Mersin were the most pleasant surprise of the Turkish Super League, finishing in a high sixth place and securing direct qualification for the playoffs. That success also opened the door to the FIBA Basketball Champions League, but competing on two fronts clearly took its toll, and the results this season have been significantly worse. In international competition, they failed to reach the Top 16 stage. As for the domestic league, they lost at home to Trabzonspor in the previous round, which marked their 11th defeat of the season, alongside only four wins. When we consider that Karsiyaka, who are currently in the relegation zone, have three wins, it becomes clear just how serious Mersin’s problems are heading into the second part of the season.
In the playoff games against Le Mans for a place in the Top 16 of the FIBA Basketball Champions League, Mersin looked very poor. However, the team responded and delivered a solid performance against Trabzonspor, coming close to recording a major victory. Still, a lack of offensive creation ultimately cost them the game. In the second half, they managed to address their biggest issue, defense, allowing only 33 points over 20 minutes, but the offense completely failed to deliver. What is especially concerning is the fact that they were quite dominant on the boards and grabbed as many as 45 percent of offensive rebounds, yet even that was not enough. Rebounding has been one of this team’s biggest problems, and when you fail to win a game in which you solve two of your major weaknesses, it raises serious questions about what can be expected for the remainder of the season.
Last season, Manisa were in a similar position to the one Mersin are in now, as they competed in the FIBA Basketball Champions League while struggling in domestic competition. This year, they are playing only in the Turkish Super League, but the problems remain significant and, based on what we have seen so far, they are likely to be involved in a relegation battle. In their last seven games, they have suffered six defeats, with their only win coming against Galatasaray a few weeks ago in front of their home fans. In their most recent outing, they lost away to Turk Telekom. When it comes to road games, Manisa have recorded two wins and six losses in eight matches played so far.
As has been the case in most games over the past couple of months, Manisa struggled heavily on the offensive end, including in the loss to Turk Telekom, although that was somewhat expected given Turk Telekom’s strong defense. However, when a team shoots a shocking 26 percent from three-point range, it is hardly surprising that they have major offensive issues and rank as the worst team in the league in terms of offensive rating. Against Turk Telekom, they made just four three-pointers out of 20 attempts. Only two players on the roster are shooting above 30 percent from beyond the arc this season. In such circumstances, winning games requires an elite-level defense, and that is not the case for Manisa, whose defense sits around the league average. Rebounding is another area that this team will need to improve significantly in the second half of the season if they want to secure their place in the Turkish Super League for next year.

Mersin vs Manisa Best Betting Tip and Prediction
This is a match of huge importance for both teams and it could determine the fate of both sides in the current season. Despite all the problems they have faced throughout the season, Mersin is still a higher-quality team than the visitors, who simply do not have enough offensive potential to win games on the road. For Manisa to win this game, they would need to deliver an almost perfect performance, and we are confident that this will not happen in this case.
