Mike James, American point guard, has officially parted ways with Monaco after five seasons, ending one of the most impactful individual runs in recent EuroLeague history.
Mike James had already said his goodbyes to Monaco earlier, making it clear that a change of environment was inevitable, and now the “Roca Team” have formally confirmed his exit.

Over five seasons, Mike James pushed boundaries, brought Gaston Médecin to life, and led the Roca Team to heights the club had never reached before, within a group that became unique in its identity. An exceptional talent, a unique character, and limitless ambition. This is what allowed us to experience titles, records, unforgettable European nights, and moments to remember”, the club wrote in a farewell message to their long-time star.
The EuroLeague’s all-time leading scorer averaged 16.5 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds last season, but Monaco were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Olympiacos.
The season was also marked by turbulence off the court. Reports of delayed salaries and internal unrest affected the campaign, and Mike James himself missed time earlier in the season due to unpaid obligations. It had already become clear at that point that his departure was imminent, and his next move will now be followed closely on the EuroLeague transfer market.
