Mike James, the American guard, has denied reports linking him with a move to the United Arab Emirates, specifically a transfer to Dubai.
Mike James is definitely leaving Monaco, a club he has already bid farewell to, but his next destination remains unclear.
Barcelona was initially expected to be his next stop, but negotiations reportedly fell through, prompting media outlets to speculate about other options.
Dubai suddenly emerged as a leading candidate, according to Greek outlet Gazzetta, but the American star was quick to dismiss the rumors.
“Y’all make up so much stories it’s hard to keep up. I wake up off a flight and I’m signed lol,” Mike James wrote on social media.
The EuroLeague’s all-time leading scorer averaged 16.5 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game last season. Although Monaco was eliminated by Olympiacos in the EuroLeague quarterfinals, James helped the club capture four domestic trophies in France during the campaign.
