It will be a match that many, many Iowa State fans won’t forget for a long time, as the No. 10 seed in the latest AP Poll totally humiliated No. 1 Purdue away with a 23-point win – 81:58!
There is no doubt that the Boilermakers will have many hard thoughts after the first defeat in the season. Purdue looked absolutely demolished, both on the offensive and the defensive side.
This was the worst home loss for the Purdue Boilermakers in history in the Mackey Arena.

Milan Momcilovic was the guy who was causing so many problems for Purdue. The Iowa State star player showed once again with his 20 points scored why he is one of the top candidates to be selected in the First Round of the NBA Draft next summer.
It really didn’t look like that Iowa State was going to make a run for it tonight against Purdue. After about eight minutes played, it was all square and tied. The Boilermakers were even leading by four after the bucket by Omer Mayer.
Bit by bit, Iowa State managed to gain control. Blake Buchanan gave the Cyclones a four-point lead at the break, 35-31.
What happened in the second half was a pure masterclass by the Iowa State players. They managed to win this period with the score 46-27.
A total catastrophe for Purdue against Iowa State in the second half
The Cyclones were running like crazy at the start of the second half. Blake Buchanan, Tamin Lipsey, Milan Momcilovic and Killyan Toure made a big run to lead Iowa State to a 15-point lead.
Purdue did manage to cut the deficit down in the coming minutes, but was stunned once again by Iowa State afterwards. This time, it was all about Milan Momcilovic. Cyclones were even leading by 27 at some point of the game, which shows how impressive they were in the second half.
Milan Momcilovic was the leading scorer for Iowa State with 20 points, while Killyan Toure added 13. Blake Buchanan was also there with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

This was No. 1 Purdue’s first loss of the season. They are now at 8-1, while No. 10 Iowa State stays undefeated with 9-0.
