Monaco triumphs over Saint Quentin with a score of 77-75 in the third round of the French LNB League. The hero of the game was Mike James.
Sasa Obradovic’s team struggled right from the start, failing to establish a comfortable lead that would significantly ease their task. The first quarter was marked by parity, but Monaco managed to break through and won the first quarter 20-16.
In the second part of the game, the “Roca Team” showcased their offensive potential, but Saint Quentin fought back with all their might. Monaco held a 12-point lead, seemingly on the brink of taking control of the match. However, the team from northern France displayed great determination and managed to narrow the gap to just four points. After the break, hardly anyone in the arena could predict what would happen next.
The team that finished third in the EuroLeague had a very poor third quarter. In the first five minutes, they scored only five points, and the suburban Aisne team knew how to capitalize on it. They went on an excellent 17-6 run, taking a commanding 12-point lead. However, this lead, as it turned out, would not be enough.
Monaco was on the brink of defeat in front of their home crowd, but Mike James wouldn’t allow it. First, he made a crucial two-plus-one play, and then, with just seconds left on the clock, he scored two points, securing his team’s third victory in as many games this season in the LNB league.
The standout performers for the Monaco team were Elie Okobo and Mike James, both contributing 19 points. In the losing team, Mathis Dossou-Yovo led the way with 15 points.
