Nemanja Nedovic, who played for Monaco last season, appeared at the Syros Tournament in Greece, where he spoke to local media.
In an interview with Sport24, the Serbian guard discussed the previous season, which ultimately ended in the best possible way – with the LNB Pro A title. Monaco also had a respectable EuroLeague campaign, especially considering the number of issues they faced throughout the season. In addition, Nedovic touched on several other interesting topics related to his future, as well as Zeljko Obradovic’s return to Panathinaikos.
At the beginning, Nedovic gave a detailed analysis of the events from the previous season and all the difficulties Monaco went through.
“I told your colleagues that if I start talking about our season, we would stay here all night. It was a crazy season, definitely an interesting one. A lot of obstacles, a lot of challenges, but in the end, four trophies. Nobody in France had done that before us. It is a historic season. Four trophies in one season, EuroLeague playoffs. So yes, it is the most successful season in Monaco’s short history, and it was definitely interesting.”
Nedović then confirmed that he still has a contract with Crvena Zvezda for next season, but added that he does not believe he will actually play for the club next year.
“I don’t know. I would really like to tell you something, but I don’t know. I have a contract for next year, but I will probably be somewhere outside Belgrade, and that is the only thing I know.”
Recently, Vassilis Spanoulis became the new head coach of Aris. The Greek coach actually started the season on Monaco’s bench, and Nedovic reflected on what it was like working with Spanoulis.
“He is a coach who supports his players. I believe he knows how to manage people and tactical situations. I think he is one of the best in Europe. I had the honor of working with him for six months. They were great months and I learned a lot from him, and I wish him every success.”
Zeljko Obradovic recently returned to Panathinaikos, the former club of Nemanja Nedovic, and he commented in more detail on the return of the most decorated coach in the history of the Greek club to the bench.
“I don’t know how happy the Serbian fans are, I mean the Partizan fans, because he left there. But I know that the Panathinaikos fans are very happy. It is an exciting period and moment for the Panathinaikos supporters. In my opinion, Panathinaikos deserves to be at the top of the EuroLeague every year, and Zeljko is the right person to bring them back to the top.”
