With Kevin Durant name surfacing in trade rumors once again, speculation is heating up about potential destinations for the Phoenix Suns star.
While teams like the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers have been frequently mentioned as possible suitors, Nick Wright suggests that the Boston Celtics could be a dark horse in the KD sweepstakes.
Speaking on First Things First, Wright shared an intriguing rumor about Boston’s possible involvement in a Durant trade:
“Two totally unrelated people, both of whom have reputations for knowing things that other people don’t know, have said to watch out for Durant and the Boston Celtics.”
Despite acknowledging the buzz, Wright admitted that he struggles to see how such a move would unfold:
“It doesn’t make sense to me, I don’t even know what would be the package, and it is similar to what Kevin Durant got killed for when he joined the Golden State Warriors.”
Durant, who has played 59 games this season, is still performing at an elite level, averaging 26.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 26.6 PIR. However, questions remain about his fit with Boston, especially with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown already leading the team.
With the Suns potentially open to reshaping their roster, Boston’s involvement would certainly shake up the league’s balance of power. Whether this is just offseason speculation or something more concrete remains to be seen.
