Nigel Williams-Goss is officially a new player of Zalgiris as of today, having signed a three-year contract with the club.
This transfer had been talked about for quite some time, and it was clear it was only a matter of time before Zalgiris officially announced Williams-Goss as their player.
According to BasketNews, the American will earn 1.3 million euros per year.

Williams-Goss played 35 games last season for Olympiacos in the EuroLeague, averaging 8.6 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds. In the Greek League, he played only 15 games, averaging 6.5 points, 3.4 assists, and 1.3 rebounds.
Over the past two seasons, the American wore the Olympiacos jersey, and before that, he also played for Real Madrid, Lokomotiv Kuban, another stint with Olympiacos, and Partizan. He also had a taste of the NBA, playing for the Utah Jazz, but spent most of his time with their G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars.
The team from Kaunas signed a 2+1 deal with Williams-Goss, and the club’s president, Paulius Jankunas, revealed how the negotiations unfolded.
“The conversation with Nigel started early and lasted quite a while. We communicated a lot and told him how we see him in our team and what our vision is for the upcoming season. From the first conversation, you could feel the respect he had for the organization, for all the attention we showed him. He liked it, he appreciates our organization. Conversation after conversation, we managed to convince him and persuade him. I think that’s the level of player we were missing.”
Regarding Zalgiris, after a hard-fought season that ended with them winning the Lithuanian Basketball League title by defeating Rytas 3-2 in the finals, the club made an unexpected decision to part ways with coach Andrea Trinchieri.
Following Williams-Goss, reports have emerged that Zalgiris has completed the signing of another Olympiacos player – Moses Wright – as well as Besiktas player Dustin Sleva.
