Following Serbia’s recent game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jokic reiterated that his goal is to remain with the Nuggets for the rest of his career.
“My idea and my wish are to stay in Denver. Whether I will sign an extension next year, we will see. The reason is strictly business-related. My wish is to stay and play in Denver until the end of my career, and it is up to them whether they will offer me a new contract or not,” Jokic said.

Jokic’s historic Nuggets career
Jokic has spent his entire NBA career with the Denver Nuggets. The franchise selected him with the 41st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, marking the beginning of one of the greatest success stories in league history. He joined the Nuggets a year later and, over 11 seasons with the organization, has led the team to its first NBA championship in 2023. That same year, he was named NBA Finals MVP, while also earning three NBA MVP awards in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
In addition, Jokic has been selected to eight NBA All-Star Games, earned six All-NBA First Team honors, and was named to the All-NBA Second Team twice. In the recently completed season, he led the NBA in both assists and rebounds, further cementing his status as one of the most dominant all-around players in basketball.
