Oded Katash, head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, spoke about his team’s victory at a press conference.
Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Zalgiris 83–65, and their coach Oded Katash commented on his team’s victory:
“It’s always winning, losing. It’s always so fun to play here. I think there’s a great atmosphere. It’s really special. The crowd is amazing. Hopefully, soon we’ll have the same experience back home in Tel Aviv, where it’s really exciting.” – said coach Katash.
He then spoke about how his team is expected to soon start playing their home games in Tel Aviv:
“We’re waiting for it so much, and it’s really special. We try so much in the last two and a half years to make our crowd happy, but it’s tough — the circumstances, the travel… and it’s amazing. I can’t even imagine that, and it’s really special and we’re excited.”
When asked if the players were extra motivated to perform for him, Katash said:
“Maybe, i got a lot of love from my players. I really respect and appreciate that. And as I said, there are a lot of good things to take from this game. I have to be honest, it was one of those days in which Zalgiris was missing a lot. Shots, open shots. I mean, we were lucky today. We were in a good side of the luck. But still, we try to focus on ourself. And as I said, I admire my players.” – He concluded.
With this victory, Maccabi Tel Aviv improved to a 4–10 record, placing them second-to-last in the EuroLeague.
