Ofer Yannay confirmed in a statement for Mozzart Sport that he wants Hapoel Tel Aviv to join the ABA League starting next season.
Hapoel Tel Aviv is eager to compete in the regional competition, similar to what Maccabi Tel Aviv did in the past. The only condition set by the club’s management is that Hapoel plays its home games in Tel Aviv, rather than in Bulgaria, as was the case during the EuroCup.
,,We are considering entering the ABA League, but there is one condition — that we play our home games in Tel Aviv” – said Ofer Yannay.
Israeli media report that the ABA League has initially shown interest in the idea, and that further negotiations are expected in the near future.
