Virtus officially announced on social media that they have secured their eighth signing of the summer, Aliou Diarra.
Diarra drew public attention at AfroBasket, where he delivered standout performances playing for Mali. He was the team’s best player in as many as five categories. The talented center averaged a team-high efficiency rating of 21.6, while also leading in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots, and steals.

Claim Now With his national team, he pulled off a major surprise by reaching the final, but they could not get past Angola, who ultimately lifted the trophy.
Although it was well known that Virtus was very interested in signing Kai Jones, the Bologna club could no longer wait for the American center’s decision and instead turned to other solutions.
Aliou Diarra is Virtus’ eighth signing this season, following the arrivals of Carsen Edwards, Saliou Niang, Alen Smailagic, Derrick Alston, Luca Vildoza, Karim Jallow, and Abramo Canka.
