Jake Cohen has officially announced his retirement from professional basketball, bringing an end to a rich and accomplished career.
Jake Cohen left a lasting mark—most notably with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he became one of the club’s most respected and beloved players. The multiple-time EuroLeague champion will not be forgotten by the yellow-and-blue faithful.
“It’s all about the people. Twelve seasons of an incredible journey, thanks to the amazing individuals who were with me every step of the way. I spent nine of those years at Maccabi Tel Aviv—that makes me a lucky man. And if you haven’t been part of it, you’ll never truly understand.”
“I’ve had incredible fans, management, and coaches throughout my career, but above all, I’ll miss my teammates. I could (and maybe I will) write a book about what it all meant to me. For now, I’ll just say thank you—and I hope to see you soon.”
Jake Cohen spent nine seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv, winning five Israeli championships and two State Cups. He also played for other Israeli clubs including Maccabi Rishon LeZion and Maccabi Ashdod, while enjoying stints abroad with Aris in Greece and Obradoiro in Spain. He represented the Israeli national team throughout his career.
