Monaco defeated Nanterre 89-78 on the road in Game 4 of the LNB Pro A semifinals, securing a place in the final with a 3-1 series win.
Monaco did not start the game well, shooting poorly from distance (4/11), while the hosts were significantly better (6/12), which gave them a 24–17 lead after the first quarter.
However, the EuroLeague side did not give up, as Elie Okobo caught fire in the second quarter, leading to a major turnaround. Nanterre were completely outplayed in that period (32–13), which gave Monaco a +12 advantage going into halftime.
The third quarter featured swings on both sides, but Nanterre eventually cracked again late in the period. The hosts showed solid resistance at times, cutting the deficit to single digits on several occasions, but experienced Okobo disrupted their momentum.
The French guard drew a foul on a three-point attempt and remained ice-cold from the free-throw line, allowing Monaco to enter the final quarter with a comfortable cushion.
The home team kept pushing, led by an excellent Donta Scott, who like Okobo scored through contact and converted the additional free throws, but it was not enough for a comeback. The game was effectively sealed by Matthew Strazel, who hit a three-pointer with a minute and a half remaining.
Despite their effort and persistence, Nanterre failed to extend the series, and Monaco advanced to the final, where they will await the winner of Paris vs Cholet (2-1).
The top scorer for the winners was Okobo with 24 points, followed by Strazel with 21, while Scott led Nanterre with 20 points.
