The ESAKE Sports Judge imposed heavy penalties – including point deductions and fines – on Monday for Olympiacos and Panathinaikos following the events of Game 5 of the Greek Basket League Finals.
According to Sport24, both Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are required to pay a fine of 150,000 euros, and both teams will start the upcoming season with a two-point deduction. Of this total amount, 50,000 euros relate to an athlete’s action that constitutes defamation of the sport, while 100,000 euros were imposed for inciting the incident between Tyrique Jones and Kendrick Nunn.
The penalties for the two athletes were also severe. Panathinaikos’ ace was punished with a two-game suspension, while Olympiacos’ center received a total of seven game suspensions for two different offenses.

As a reminder, with 3:17 remaining in the third quarter of Game 5 – which Olympiacos won – Jones was ejected after receiving a technical foul and an unsportsmanlike foul. Nunn also picked up his second technical foul, resulting in both players being ejected and sent to the locker room.
After that, both players got into a fight in the tunnel, which Ergin Ataman was the first to speak about after the end of the match, visibly irritated. Everything was caught on camera and soon posted on social media, where it quickly went viral. However, we have now received the final outcome.
