Omer Yurtseven, the Turkish basketball player, has signed a 10-day contract with the seven-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
He continues his career in the NBA. After leaving Panathinaikos and playing a few games in the G League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Houston Rockets’ affiliate, the Turkish center has joined the Golden State Warriors.
According to media reports, the team with seven NBA titles, led by Steve Kerr, signed the Turkish center to a 10-day contract. It was enough for Michael Dunleavy Jr., the general manager of the Golden State Warriors, to offer a contract to Omer Yurtseven. The California team is facing major injury problems at the frontcourt positions, as Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford are currently out.
Panathinaikos declared him surplus after the return of Mathias Lessort, since at the “five” position Ergin Ataman can also rely on Richaun Holmes and Kenneth Faried.
On Friday night, Yurtseven scored 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, drawing the interest of Warriors, the Western Conference team.
After his stint with Panathinaikos, where he didn’t meet expectations, the 27-year-old Turk center returned to the NBA, where he previously played for the Miami Heat and Utah Jazz.
