Panathinaikos have suffered another injury concern during preseason after Nikos Rogkavopoulos sustained a hamstring injury in Friday’s friendly against Maroussi.
The Greek forward left the game with discomfort in his left thigh before undergoing medical examinations at Hygeia Hospital. Panathinaikos later confirmed that Nikos Rogkavopoulos suffered a strain to the hamstring of his left leg.

Nikos Rogkavopoulos begins treatment
Rogkavopoulos has already started a specific treatment program, according to Panathinaikos, while the club will reassess his condition at a later date. No timetable has been given for his return.
The injury has also affected Panathinaikos’ preseason schedule. The club’s friendly against Peristeri has been postponed as the team continues to deal with a significant number of absences.
Rogkavopoulos’ setback comes after he had joined the rest of the group in preparation for the new season. Panathinaikos will now wait for further medical updates before determining when the 25-year-old forward can return to full basketball activities.
Rogkavopoulos adds to Panathinaikos injury list
The Greek forward is the latest Panathinaikos player to be sidelined during preseason.
Kendrick Nunn remains out after undergoing surgery for a medial meniscus tear in his right knee and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, while Nigel Hayes-Davis is recovering from a fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his left hand and is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks.
With both players expected to miss the start of the season, Rogkavopoulos’ injury gives Zeljko Obradovic another issue to manage during Panathinaikos’ preparations.
