Anadolu Efes team manager Ozgur Alyuz has revealed that Georgios Papagiannis and Isaia Cordinier are both expected to miss the start of the 2026-27 season.
Speaking to Bein Sports, Alyuz said the two players are currently undergoing treatment and that their situations will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis.
“The treatments of Georgios Papagiannis and Isaia Cordinier are currently ongoing. However, it seems that neither of them will be available at the start of the season, but their situations are being evaluated week by week,” Alyuz said.

Georgios Papagiannis suffered an ACL tear on October 17, 2025, ruling him out for a significant part of the previous season.
Isaia Cordinier, meanwhile, spent much of the season dealing with injury problems. Anadolu Efes repeatedly informed the public about his physical condition during the campaign, with the club also noting that the French guard played in numerous games despite dealing with injuries.
His latest rehabilitation adds another concern for Anadolu Efes, which will now have to prepare for the start of the new season without one of its experienced perimeter players.
The club has yet to provide a definitive timetable for either player’s return, with Alyuz emphasizing that both situations will be evaluated week by week.

Anadolu Efes enters new season with revamped roster
Alyuz also discussed Anadolu Efes’ offseason EuroLeague transactions, with the club entering the new campaign with a significantly altered roster.
“It will be a new season for us as well. Last year, we fell a little short of expectations, but this year almost half of the roster has changed. We acquired good players. We have a difficult schedule in the EuroLeague,” Alyuz said.
Efes will open its domestic campaign against Besiktas before beginning another demanding EuroLeague schedule.
