The Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) has officially fined Paris over a series of controversial social media posts during last season’s LNB Pro A playoffs.
The incident occurred during Paris’s high-stakes series against Strasbourg, sparking a heated exchange between the two rivals.
After losing Game 2 of the series, Paris published a video compilation on their social media accounts accusing Strasbourg player William Pfister of intentionally injuring one of their players.
“Four times in 10 minutes, Strasbourg player William Pfister does not play the ball, but the man, to hurt him,” the club alleged in the provocative post, adding:
“Until he injured Sebastian Herrera, who will miss tomorrow’s game. Betclic Elite, how many players will we have to lose before action is taken?” the club added, questioning the league’s officiating and safety standards.

The post was deleted shortly after Strasbourg president Jerome Rosenstiehl contacted the LNB to report the accusation.
However, the content remained accessible for around 15 hours on Paris’s Facebook account, generating significant negative backlash.
The LNB commission determined that the post constituted “harm to the image of the competition and its participants,” referring the club to disciplinary proceedings.
Paris received a two-part sanction:
- A €1,500 immediate fine
- An additional €1,500 suspended fine
