Monaco suffered a heavy defeat on the road against Chalon/Saone, losing 90-65 in the final round of the LNB Pro A.
With this result, Monaco lost its grip on first place at the end of the regular season and will enter the playoffs from the third position, as both Paris and Asvel recorded wins in this round.
Chalon/Saone showed their intent from the opening tip, playing tough defense, limiting Monaco’s pace, and completely controlling the game. The home team’s lead grew steadily, and with a 44-29 score at halftime, the direction of the match was clear. Vassilis Spanoulis‘ team never found a solution in the second half and ultimately suffered a convincing loss.
Zach Cuthbertson led the winning side with 21 points, while Dusan Ristic was also excellent with 17 points and 11 rebounds. For Monaco, Matthew Strazel and Daniel Theis each scored 11 points.
In the playoffs, Monaco will have home-court advantage against Le Mans, while Chalon/Saone heads to the play-in round, where they will face Dijon.
Nancy vs Paris
Paris capitalized on Monaco’s slip and comfortably defeated Nancy 105-86 on the road, securing the top spot heading into the playoffs.
From the beginning, there was no doubt about the winner. Paris controlled the game throughout, with the key moment coming in the second quarter, which they won 38-28 to take a double-digit lead that they maintained until the end.
Nadir Hifi led Paris with 20 points and six rebounds, while T.J. Shorts added 16 points and seven assists. Clement Frisch was Nancy’s top scorer with 21 points.
With this win, Paris clinched first place in the standings and will face one of the play-in teams in the playoffs.

Asvel vs Dijon
Asvel narrowly defeated Dijon 84-83 at home after a hard-fought battle, finishing the regular season in second place.
Asvel played an excellent first half and appeared to be in full control, but completely stalled in the third quarter. Dijon took advantage, winning that period 32-20 and completely turning the game around. However, Asvel showed their quality in the final stretch, staying composed, making smarter plays, and completing the comeback to secure a big win.
Theo Maledon led the way with 23 points, five rebounds, and five assists. For Dijon, Gregor Hrovat was the top scorer with 19 points.
Asvel’s playoff opponent is still unknown and will be the winner of the play-in game between the seventh and eighth seeds, which is a matchup between Dijon and Chalon/Saone.
