Xavi Pascual will leave Zenit after five years and will aim to return to the EuroLeague this summer.
Although Zenit did not win the VTB League title this season, the club wanted to extend Xavi Pascual’s contract. However, the Spaniard was not interested in staying in Saint Petersburg any longer.
During his tenure in Saint Petersburg, Pascual led Zenit to the first four trophies in the club’s history – one league title, two Supercups, and one Russian Cup.

Before the war in Ukraine broke out in February 2022, Zenit was among the top four teams in the EuroLeague standings.
In two of his five seasons in Russia, Pascual was named VTB League Coach of the Year. At one point, he recorded 25 consecutive wins in the competition — a league record.
Xavi Pascual has coached Barcelona, Panathinaikos, and Zenit during his coaching career.
His goal is definitely to return this summer to one of the EuroLeague clubs.
