Partizan have officially parted ways with Shake Milton after just one season, with the Serbian club announcing that it has exercised the contractual option to end their cooperation with the American guard.
The decision comes after a difficult campaign in which Shake Milton was limited by injuries and was unable to consistently show his full potential during his first season in European basketball.
Shake Milton leaves Partizan after injury-plagued season
In an official statement, Partizan confirmed that the club decided to activate the contract clause following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
“After the 2025/26 season, Partizan used the contractual clause and made the decision to end cooperation with Shake Milton.”
Milton arrived in Belgrade as one of the biggest names of Partizan’s summer recruitment, making the move to Europe for the first time in his career after several years in the NBA. However, injuries disrupted his season from the beginning, preventing him from finding rhythm and becoming the impact player the club expected.
The 29-year-old appeared in only 23 EuroLeague games, averaging 6.9 points, 2.4 assists and 1.4 rebounds per contest.

Milton’s first European experience after NBA career
The 2025/26 season was Milton’s first outside the NBA after spending his entire professional career in the United States.
Before joining Partizan, the guard played for several NBA teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.
Throughout his NBA career, Milton became known as a reliable perimeter scorer and experienced rotation player, appearing in hundreds of regular-season games before making the decision to continue his career overseas.
Milton played college basketball at SMU from 2015 to 2018 before entering the 2018 NBA Draft. He was selected with the 54th overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks, but was immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he began his NBA career.
Partizan continue roster changes ahead of new season
Milton becomes the latest departure from a Partizan roster that is undergoing significant changes this summer.
The Serbian powerhouse has already seen Nick Calathes, Duane Washington, Sterling Brown, Dylan Osetkowski, Aleksa Radanov and Isaac Bonga leave the club, while Tonye Jekiri has agreed to extend his contract and remain in Belgrade.
So far, Partizan have not officially announced any new signings during the offseason. However, several players are expected to join the team soon, including Nikola Tanaskovic, Derek Willis, Kevarrius Hayes and Kyle Allman.
