Kevarrius Hayes, who played for Monaco this season, is expected to strengthen Partizan this summer, according to Encestando.
It is reportedly known that Hayes was a major target of Partizan head coach Joan Penarroya. As stated, Penarroya had a strong desire to bring Hayes in even during his time as Baskonia coach, but that transfer did not materialize at the time. However, it now appears that their collaboration will finally happen.
Although Kevarrius Hayes has a contract with Monaco for next season as well and even carries a high buyout clause, due to the financial issues Monaco is facing and the uncertainty surrounding the club’s future, it is clear that Partizan could actually secure Hayes for significantly less money.
Monaco are expected to undergo major changes this summer, and it is already known that the club will be leaving Mike James, Elie Okobo, Alpha Diallo, Daniel Theis, and Jaron Blossomgame.
When it comes to Hayes, he is coming off a solid season in which he played 23 games in the LNB Pro A, averaging 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. In the EuroLeague, he posted slightly lower numbers, averaging 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds across 35 games.
Before Monaco, Hayes also played for Paris, Zalgiris, Bursaspor, Asvel, while the first club in his European career was Le Mans. He also played college basketball at the University of Florida.
