    Partizan vs Olympiacos Preview

Partizan have been in crisis for quite some time, and even a change on the coaching bench has failed to bring any improvement when it comes to EuroLeague results. The Black-and-Whites are on a six-game losing streak, all by convincing margins, and their current record in Europe’s elite competition stands at 6–15. In the previous EuroLeague double-round week, Partizan suffered road defeats against Monaco (101–84) and Barcelona (88–70), which left them tied at the bottom of the standings. Over the weekend, they defeated Studentski Centar 78–66 in the ABA League.

Partizan’s performances in the EuroLeague have looked disastrous on both ends of the floor. Over the last three games, the Black-and-Whites have averaged just 75 points per game, while the defensive side has been far from acceptable – in three of their last five outings, Partizan conceded 100 points. Over the past month, the team has shown virtually no defensive discipline, which makes it hardly surprising that they have failed to register a single EuroLeague win during that span. Joan Penarroya’s team played decently against Valencia and during the first half against Barcelona, while all other performances were simply forgettable. Cameron Payne, after a very strong start in the black-and-white jersey, has faded into mediocrity, with Duane Washington Jr. occasionally standing out through individual solutions and his scoring talent. Against Barcelona, Washington was the top scorer with 20 points, but with him on the floor Partizan were outscored by as many as 14 points. He confirmed his scoring form against Studentski Centar as well, pouring in 22 points, while recently arrived Tonye Jekiri also delivered an excellent performance. The Nigerian center recorded 15 points, six rebounds and four assists, and played far better than Bruno Fernando, who, like Sterling Brown and Vanja Marinkovic, is in dreadful form. Partizan are still getting nothing from Jabari Parker, who missed the game in Podgorica and was replaced by the recently recovered Aleksej Pokusevski. The Black-and-Whites were also left without Shake Milton in that game, as he fractured a finger on his left hand and will be sidelined for an extended period. Partizan occasionally hint at their quality in certain segments of games, but they are unable to sustain longer stretches of good play to remain competitive, which is why they have lost their last six EuroLeague games by double-digit margins.

Olympiacos recorded one win and one loss during last week’s EuroLeague double round. They defeated Bayern at home 95–80, but prior to that suffered an 88–80 defeat away to Fenerbahce. It was Olympiacos’ first loss after three consecutive wins in Europe’s top competition, where the Piraeus powerhouse currently holds a 12–8 record. There is no doubt that the team’s ambitions are far higher than their current position, as Olympiacos sit only eighth in the standings.

The results of those two games do not fully reflect what was seen on the court. Olympiacos played an even contest against Fenerbahce, leading by four points at halftime, while the game was tied heading into the final quarter. The visitors stayed competitive until two minutes before the end, when they made several poor decisions on both offense and defense, and a disastrous three-point shooting performance (5/23) certainly did not help. Olympiacos had four players in excellent form in that game: Sasha Vezenkov scored 24 points, Donta Hall added 16 with 11 rebounds, while Tyler Dorsey and Evan Fournier chipped in 15 points each. However, there were no signs of contribution from the rest of the roster, as only four additional players scored, combining for just 10 points. In the following game, Olympiacos defeated Bayern thanks to an excellent second-half performance. The Greek side struggled for a long time to break the Bavarians’ resistance, but outstanding performances from Sasha Vezenkov and Nikola Milutinov, who did not play against Fenerbahçe, proved decisive. In that matchup, Olympiacos also had Tyson Ward available again after a long absence, while Monte Morris suffered an injury and is expected to miss time. The club’s latest signing, Tyrique Jones, made his debut over the weekend in the domestic league against AS Karditsas, but will not be eligible to face his former club in the upcoming EuroLeague round. From the game against AS Karditsas, it is also worth highlighting a phenomenal individual performance by Alec Peters, who exploded for 35 points.

    Partizan vs Olympiacos H2H

Last season, the head-to-head record between these two teams was 1–1. Partizan prevailed at home with a 78–70 win, while Olympiacos responded with an 82–70 victory. This season, Olympiacos came out on top in the first meeting, winning 80–71, in a game that was far more evenly contested than the final score might suggest.

    Injuries and Suspensions

Partizan will be without Carlik Jones, Shake Milton and Mario Nakic, while Mitar Bosnjakovic is listed as questionable. Olympiacos will be missing Moustapha Fall, Monte Morris and Keenan Evans, Shaquielle McKissic is questionable, and Tyrique Jones is not eligible to play.

Where to Watch Partizan vs Olympiacos?

Partizan vs Olympiacos Best Betting Tip and Prediction

Partizan are in complete disarray, having suffered six consecutive heavy defeats in the EuroLeague, while the atmosphere in the stands is far removed from what the club is known for. A dark cloud has settled over the Belgrade side, who are struggling with roster decisions, as well as with a large portion of the squad still searching for proper form. The Black-and-Whites’ defense has been disastrous, and now they face a matchup against the second-best offense in the EuroLeague. The Greek side have also fallen short of expectations for a team of such quality, but they should approach the game against Partizan with maximum seriousness and avoid a slip-up that could prove costly. For all these reasons, we believe the visitors will take the win in Belgrade, and that they will do so by a margin larger than the stated handicap.
