TyTy Washington is a point guard for Asvel. He signed in August 2026 and wears number 3. TyTy was born on 15 November 2001 in Phoenix, Arizona. He stands 1.91 meters. This is his first club outside the United States.
Memphis drafted him 29th overall in 2022, out of Kentucky. He was traded twice that same night, ending up in Houston. Four seasons followed with four organizations. He played 74 NBA games for Houston, Milwaukee, Phoenix and the Clippers. The minutes were short almost every time.
His 2025-26 season was spent mostly in the G League. He averaged 19.5 points and 5.8 assists for the San Diego Clippers. He shot 41.2 percent from three across 27 games. That form earned him a two-way contract in December 2025.
Asvel rebuilt its backcourt almost completely this summer. Patty Mills and Tremont Waters signed in the same month as him. Tony Parker owns the club and coaches it. Washington now has to prove that his scoring travels.
FAQ About Ty Ty Washington
What did Asvel say when they signed him?
The club called him creative and explosive, with excellent passing quality. Asvel expects him to organize the offense and lift the tempo. He was given the number 3 shirt. The deal was announced on 24 August 2026, and no contract length was made public.
What is the biggest thing he has done on a court?
On 8 January 2022, as a Kentucky freshman, he handed out 17 assists against Georgia. That broke John Wall’s Kentucky single-game record. He finished the season on the second All-SEC team and on the conference All-Freshman team.
Why is a former first-round pick leaving the NBA at 24?
Because the NBA was only offering him the two-way route. In four seasons, he played 74 games and averaged nine minutes. He was traded four times and waived twice. Asvel offers him a rotation role in the EuroLeague instead.
