In Partizan’s win over Bayern in EuroLeague Round 14, the Belgrade team suffered a setback with the injury of Aleksej Pokusevski.
During the second quarter, Pokusevski injured his ankle upon landing under his own basket.
After detailed examinations, it was concluded that Pokusevski suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain and will be sidelined for about a month, according to initial estimates.
Considering that Jabari Parker has not been delivering good performances since the start of the season, Pokusevski had become an important part of Partizan’s rotation. He particularly played well in the loss to Asvel and the win over Monaco, which makes this a significant blow for the team.
Head coach Mirko Ocokoljic will now rely on Jabari Parker and Isaac Bonga at the power forward position, with Bonga sliding down when needed. Bruno Fernando has also shown he can fill that role effectively, while Dylan Osetkowski—although not often used at the 4 in Partizan—has played that position frequently throughout his career.
