Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, star of the Oklahoma City Thunder, has officially been named NBA Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive time.
A few hours after the announcement, the full voting results were revealed. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander received overwhelming support from voters, collecting 83 first-place votes (out of 100), 13 second-place votes, and three third-place votes, which gave him a total of 939 points.
A global media panel of 100 voters selected the winner of the 2025-26 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award.

He once again finished ahead of Nikola Jokic, who placed second with 634 points. The Serbian center received 10 first-place votes, 48 second-place votes, 37 third-place votes, four fourth-place votes, and one fifth-place vote.
Victor Wembanyama finished third, Luka Doncic was fourth, and Cade Cunningham took fifth place. Cunningham was also the only other player, alongside the top four candidates, to receive first-place votes.
In addition, Gilgeous-Alexander treated his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates after winning the prestigious award.
The Canadian guard gifted his teammates expensive Audemars Piguet watches as a sign of gratitude for helping him secure the second MVP trophy of his career.
