Fenerbahce have completed one of the biggest EuroLeague transactions of the summer by signing Shane Larkin on a two-year contract. The move had been expected for weeks, but the Turkish powerhouse have now officially secured one of the greatest guards in modern EuroLeague history.
After spending several years with Anadolu Efes and becoming one of the club’s greatest players, Shane Larkin now begins a new chapter with one of Anadolu Efes’ biggest domestic and European rivals. His arrival adds another proven winner to Fenerbahce’s ambitious project.

Injuries overshadowed Larkin’s final season at Anadolu Efes
Larkin’s final campaign with Anadolu Efes was far from his best. The veteran guard missed a significant portion of the season through injury, preventing him from finding the consistency that had made him one of Europe’s most dominant players for years.
The physical setbacks limited both his rhythm and overall impact. As Anadolu Efes struggled to meet expectations, Larkin also came under criticism from former Turkish international Ibrahim Kutluay, who questioned whether the veteran guard could still perform at the level that once made him one of the EuroLeague’s biggest stars.
Despite those difficulties, his quality was never in doubt. When healthy, Larkin continued to show flashes of the playmaking, shot creation and leadership that helped Anadolu Efes win back-to-back EuroLeague titles.
Fenerbahce lands one of EuroLeague’s greatest guards
With the move now complete, Fenerbahce strengthens its backcourt with one of the most decorated guards of the modern EuroLeague era. If Larkin can stay healthy, the transfer has the potential to become one of the most impactful signings of the offseason and another statement move by the Turkish powerhouse.
Larkin is a two-time EuroLeague champion who has previously played for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Baskonia, Boston Celtics and Anadolu Efes. His arrival marks Fenerbahce’s fourth signing of the summer, following Trent Forrest, Shavon Shields and Braxton Key, as the reigning EuroLeague champions continue to strengthen their roster ahead of the new season.
