According to Basketball Sphere, the intention of the “Flying Czech” is to remain with Barcelona and sign a new contract on significantly reduced financial terms, if the club decides to offer him one.

Given the situation, with Barcelona reportedly planning a major roster overhaul this summer and looking to free up budget space for other players, the chances of Jan Vesely receiving a new contract are minimal, and it is expected that he will say goodbye to basketball.

In the 2025/2026 EuroLeague season, he did not miss games and appeared in 40 matches, averaging 8.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2 assists in 21 minutes per game. In the Liga Endesa, he missed a double-digit number of games, contributing 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist in 15 minutes per game.
Although he remains a desired player among fans of Partizan and Fenerbahce, Basketball Sphere reports that no offers ever arrived from these clubs, leaving Barcelona as the only realistic option.
