What was being discussed yesterday has become official today: Stefan Jovic has become the new player of Bayern.
As reported, the Serbian point guard signed a one-year contract with the Munich club and comes in as a replacement for the injured Rokas Jokubaitis, which was also confirmed by Bayern’s sports director, Dragan Tarlac.
“It’s no secret that we had to react to the serious injury of Rokas Jokubaitis, and doing so this late in the summer was very challenging. That’s why we’re even happier that we managed to bring in Stefan, an experienced and well-known point guard, whom we believe fits perfectly into our system. Moreover, he knows Munich and the EuroLeague very well. Stefan also showed at the recent EuroLeague season that he is in great form. We look forward to this reinforcement in the backcourt and his positive impact on the team.”

Stefan Jovic has already played for Bayern earlier in his career, from 2017 to 2019, winning two Bundesliga titles in 2018 and 2019, as well as the German Cup in 2018.
Jovic did not hide his excitement when he heard about Bayern’s interest.
“When I heard about Bayern’s interest over the weekend, the decision was immediately clear to me. We had a very successful time there, the club developed a lot, and we felt very, very comfortabl. Especially my eldest son has fond memories of Munich and was immediately thrilled. So, this was not only a sporting decision but also a family one. I also know the medical staff very well, as the check-up in Munich every summer is part of my preparation. I am ready and looking forward to this challenge.”
Besides Bayern, Stefan Jovic has also played in his career for Valencia, Zaragoza, Panathinaikos, Khimki, Crvena Zvezda, Radnicki Kragujevac, and Sloga.
During the previous season, while playing for Valencia, he appeared in 23 Liga Endesa games, averaging 3.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game.
