Steph Curry talked with different media representatives in Abu Dhabi where Team USA will play against Serbia and Australia.
The US is entering in its final stages of preparation for the Olympic Games. It seems that the players are in a good mood and Curry emphasized the importance of these two upcoming games.
“These games are very important. We’ve already played one against Canada, and we have two more here. Each game will be an opportunity to learn a bit about ourselves, to know what we need to focus on when the games really matter in Paris. Everything is condensed. In the NBA, you have a month and a half of training camp before the season starts, now we only have three weeks. So you have to be mentally prepared for maximum effort, and with these two games, we need to become even better and continue building a winning mentality.
I played for the under-19 national team in Serbia, right against Serbia. We beat them in the group stage, and then they got back at us in the gold medal game. After that, we got our revenge in the final of the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. There’s a lot of history behind us,” Steph Curry began.

Obviously, you have Nikola Jokic, who has achieved so much throughout his career. Playing against him and Bogdan Bogdanovic will be a lot of fun. We all know each other. Honestly, I don’t know how it will be to play against them here, but they are in our group at the Games, so we are in for some good matchups. It will be tough to beat Serbia, which is why we need to stay focused on what we know and execute it well. Serbia is a very tough opponent, as are some other teams we will see at the Olympic Games,” said Steph Curry.
Dream Team, Redeem Team, what’s next nickname for the USA?
“I’m not sure, I would have to do a little research. Honestly, I don’t know if Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson came up with the nickname ‘Dream Team’ themselves and flaunted it or if the public gave it to them. What matters most to me is that in the end, we’re called ‘Olympic gold medalists,’ and whatever nickname we get, it will be great.”.
