Stephen Curry believes LeBron James would be ending his legendary NBA career “the right way” by joining the Golden State Warriors.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Stephen Curry shared why he thinks the Bay Area would be the perfect destination for the four-time NBA champion, highlighting the Warriors’ winning culture, lifestyle and his long history with James.
“The Bay, we know how to win, it’s beautiful weather, great golf, and I know he’s into that,” Curry said when asked what his pitch would be to James.
Curry also pointed to their years of competing against each other, as well as winning Olympic gold together with Team USA, as reasons why they could thrive as teammates.
“The USA experience that we had, the battles that we’ve had over the years, we just know how to play basketball and I think that he would enjoy just the idea of what it means to finish your career the right way.”
James later acknowledged at Fanatics Fest in New York that the Warriors are among the teams linked with him in free agency, while refusing to reveal where he plans to play next season.
Shams Charania: Warriors remain in LeBron James race
According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, five teams remain in the race to sign James following his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers.
While the Golden State Warriors are among those still pursuing him, Charania said there is “a focus” on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, with the Minnesota Timberwolves also remaining in contention.

Draymond Green also made his pitch
Stephen Curry is not the only Warriors star trying to recruit James.
Draymond Green revealed on The Draymond Green Show that he made his own pitch during a recent golf trip with LeBron in Puerto Rico.
“I’d be remiss if I don’t take the opportunity to throw my pitch in there… Of course I did that and of course the pitch was crazy. I think I’m pretty decent at it.”
Green admitted he does not know whether his message changed anything, but believes it gave James something to think about.
“Does it change anything? Does it make anything happen? I don’t know. I hope so. With the things that I shared in it, it’s definitely gonna make the brain work a little bit. I don’t think there’s a decision that’s been made, but say if there was, it’ll make you think twice about it.”
