Sylvain Francisco, Zalgiris guard, spoke about his summer plans and the rumors surrounding him ahead of the opening of the transfer market.
Sylvain Francisco is high on the wish list of several EuroLeague teams, but he has maintained from the very beginning that a move to the NBA is his primary focus, which he once again confirmed after the win over Juventus in Game 1 of the Lithuanian League finals.
“Rumors are everywhere, but right now I’m thinking about the NBA. Yes, despite everything, the main goal is the NBA. Things can change, but that is the place I want to go. Like I said, rumors are everywhere. Right now, I’m focused on the finals”, French guard told BasketNews and then continued:
“Kaunas, any other team that wants me. I’m not paying attention to that right now. The cards are in my hands, so I have to take my time.”
Recently, he has been most strongly linked with a move to Asvel on a lucrative multi-year deal, and the guard himself does not hide his satisfaction with the fact that the Villeurbanne club is getting back on track.
“Obviously, it’s amazing. This season, it was a team that had a lot of ups and downs, especially financially. But now the club is getting back on the right track, it will have a great team and one of the best budgets in the league.
“Villeurbanne is my hometown, so what I see is a plus: there is an opportunity to bring in stronger players and have a better team that can compete in the EuroLeague”, Sylvain Francisco added.
