Rounds 2 and 3 are done, four teams are still unbeaten, and Real Madrid and Maccabi Tel Aviv are still searching for a first win. Mike James’s Achilles injury has also changed the outlook for Anadolu Efes. Here is the full 1-20 ranking after the first double round.
Hapoel Tel Aviv
The most interesting club in the league for anyone who studies how brands are built, because Hapoel is building one in real time. The club entered the EuroLeague in 2025-26 as EuroCup champion and immediately behaved like it belonged. Vasilije Micić now starts his second season in red. Hapoel’s identity is working class, loud and stubbornly anti-establishment, which in a league of licensed giants is a genuine point of difference. What the club still lacks is a system behind the culture. Culture fills arenas. System keeps them full when the results wobble.
