Mario Hezonja will become a new-old player for Barcelona, signing a four-year contract with the club, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
The Croatian international was one of the best players for Real Madrid this season, but talks throughout the year indicated that the club’s management and the player could not agree on a contract extension.
After winning the Liga Endesa title, Hezonja hinted at a press conference that he might stay with the “Royal Club.”
However, Marca reports that Mario Hezonja has signed a four-year contract with Barcelona, earning three million euros per season.
The Croatian forward previously wore the Catalan club’s jersey from 2012 to 2015 before heading to the NBA. He was selected as the fifth pick in the 2015 draft but struggled to find his footing in the world’s top league. Upon returning to Europe, he played for Panathinaikos and Unics before signing with Real Madrid in 2022, where he won the EuroLeague title in his first season.
