Dubai announced via social media that their latest acquisition is Filipino player Thirdy Ravena.
As reported, the Filipino player has signed a one-year contract, with the option to extend the collaboration for another year with the new participant in the ABA League.
“Thirdy Ravena is an emerging star who won the title for Most Improved Player in the Asian league in Japan. He is a perfect fit for the cosmopolitan spirit of Dubai. As a pioneer of Filipino basketball in Europe, Ravena not only represents his community but is also writing a new chapter in the history of the sport. Welcome,” said Jurica Golemac, the Slovenian coach who will lead Dubai from the sidelines.
Ravena spent the last four seasons in Japan with the San-En NeoPhoenix, averaging 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and three assists per game.
He was also on the list of 21 players for the 2023 World Cup, but he did not make the final roster of 12 players.
In addition to Ravena, this newly formed club has signed eight more players: Nate Mason, Aleksa Uskokovic, Nemanja Dangubic, Ahmet Duverioglu, Leon Radosevic, Awudu Abass, Danilo Andjusic, Klemen Prepelic, and coach Jurica Golemac.
