TNT Tropang 5G vs Converge FiberXers Preview
The clash between TNT and Converge will be an extremely interesting matchup because on one side, we have the injury-devastated Tropa, whose team desperately needs to win, but they will be facing one of the best offenses in the Governors´ Cup in view of Converge, who look prime to upset them. Head coach Chot Reyes and Tropa are facing massive issues at the start of this conference. We can´t stress enough how important their absences are as they are basically without their entire starting five. Jayson Castro, Calvin Oftana, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Poy Erram and Mikey Williams are all unavailable due to injuries and to make matters even worse, TNT´s main import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is also unavailable to play. His replacement Darius Days is completely out of shape and doesn´t sprint back on defense, while on offense he relies on his shaky shooting and questionable individual class. In their opening two matches, Tropa had the easiest possible schedule as they were facing Macau and Titan – they led by over twenty points against the Giant Pandas, but barely escaped with a three-point victory, while the Giant Risers completely outmuscled them with a 16-point win (103:97). In their last encounter, they faced an acid test against a very awkward Terrafirma side. Their absences took their toll as the Dyip went up by almost twenty points in the second half, but Jordan Heading launched a furious comeback in the final quarter and dragged the game into overtime. With only two minutes left in overtime, Tropa were leading by six points, but Terrafirma launched four missiles from beyond the arc in less than two minutes and completely turned the game around, winning 111:106.
Following their last loss, Tropa are now on the verge of desperation as they need to take down a pretty formidable Converge side. TNT only have a couple of high-volume scorers at the moment with Nambatac, Heading and Pogoy leading the charge, while import Darius Days is completely unreliable and also out of shape and form.
The Converge FiberXers opened the Governors´ Cup in impressive fashion, notching three straight wins. However, in their final match, they were finally stopped by the San Miguel Beermen, whose team outscored them in a shootout (128:122). Statistically, the FiberXers possess one of the best offenses in the conference even though their import Justin Hudson is struggling. Their frontcourt pillars, Justine Baltazar and Justin Arana, have been superb so far, while Juan Gomez de Liano and Calvin Abueva have also provided a steady scoring presence. If their import was playing at a higher level, the ceiling for Converge would be much higher, but even with a rusty and inefficient foreigner, the FiberXers still managed to average over 120 points across their first four games. Along with the depth of Converge, that will be the main problem for the depleted lineup of Tropa, who simply don´t have enough scoring prowess right now to keep up with a high-octane team like the FiberXers. Also, TNT´s import has been very poor defensively in the paint and Baltazar and Arana will know how to exploit that. In addition, news just came out that Converge replaced their import Hudson with a familiar face as Jamaal Franklin has returned to the team and is expected to make his debut this Tuesday because he has been spotted in Converge´s training.
Converge simply have to take advantage of Tropa´s massive injury woes. We watched TNT´s match against Terrafirma and it was more than visible they are struggling with their main stars on the sidelines. If it wasn´t for Heading´s heroics in that game, they would have lost easily by 15-20 points against the Dyip, so the FiberXers have an excellent chance to notch a routine victory today.
TNT Tropang 5G vs Converge FiberXers H2H
A couple of months ago in the Commissioner´s Cup, the FiberXers stunned Tropa with a narrow 97:92 victory, while in the last Philippine Cup, TNT won routinely by seven points (110:103).
Injuries and Suspensions
The TNT Tropang 5G can´t count on Calvin Oftana, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Poy Erram, Jayson Castro and Mikey Williams. The Converge FiberXers have more or less their full lineup available.

TNT Tropang 5G vs Converge FiberXers Best Betting Tip and Prediction
TNT are heavily shorthanded and, in our opinion, don´t have enough quality to keep up with a solid side like Converge. Coach Chot Reyes will try to conjure up a tactical masterclass to outwit the FiberXers, but Tropa are undersized and lack the scoring punch they usually have, so we opted for the Converge FiberXers to cover the spread.
