Tofas vs Turk Telekom Preview
Tofas had quite a tense and uncertain start to the season in terms of results. In the Round 1 of the Turkish Super League, they managed to surprise Fenerbahce on their home court, defeating the reigning EuroLeague champions with a buzzer-beater. The hero of the win was Maxwell Lewis, and interestingly, the game-winner was also the only basket he scored in the entire game. Following that victory, Tofas played a very solid game away against Galatasaray but came up short in a tight finish (91-93). After that, they managed to beat Bnei Herzliya 90-86 in the first round of the FIBA Champions League group stage.
The early results — and performances on the court – are highly promising for head coach Emil Rajkovic’s team. Beating Fenerbahce is never easy, but Tofas managed it, led primarily by Marek Blazevic, who scored 21 points in that game and followed up with 25 in each of the next two. There’s no doubt that the Lithuanian center has been the standout player for Tofas at the start of the season, and given the current situation with big men in European basketball, it wouldn’t be surprising if he receives a EuroLeague offer in the near future. He also scored the go-ahead basket for Tofas in the final moments of the game against Galatasaray. It was the highlight of an excellent play drawn up during a timeout by coach Emil Rajkovic, giving Tofas a 91-90 lead that many believed would be decisive. However, the referees called a very questionable foul on Will Cummings in Galatasaray’s final possession, allowing him to make all three free throws and seal the win for his team. Tofas showed they had moved past that disappointment — even if they didn’t take the referees’ decision lightly – by defeating the Israeli side in their European opener. In addition to the aforementioned Marek Blazevic, Hugo Besson had an excellent game, finishing with 20 points, while Alex Perez and Joseph Thomasson each added 10.
Turk Telekom, on the other hand, has had a disastrous start to the new season. In the first two rounds of the Turkish Super League, they suffered two defeats. The fact that they lost to strong teams – Besiktas and Bahcesehir – could somewhat soften the blow for coach Erdem Can’s squad. However, the Turkish team also recorded two losses in the opening rounds of the EuroCup. First, they were defeated at home by Ulm (93-96), followed by a loss to Bourg in France (80-88).
Coach Erdem Can’s team, which had achieved impressive results just a few seasons ago, has been very inconsistent offensively. In some games, their three-point shooting was dreadful — such as the matchup against Besiktas (15%) and Bourg (20%) – while in others, like against Bahcesehir, they hit more than half of their attempts from deep. In two of the four games mentioned, they significantly outrebounded their opponents, while in the other two, they were out-rebounded by a wide margin. All of this shows that the team is still searching for its identity and struggling to deliver a full 40 minutes of quality basketball across all phases of the game. That said, the team certainly has talent. In the backcourt, they feature Dogus Ozdemiroglu, Jaleen Smith, and Kyle Allman, while in the frontcourt, Kris Bankston and Marko Simonovic have been making an impact. The Montenegrin international posted a double-double against Bourg — 27 points and 10 rebounds — which could be a sign of even stronger performances to come.

Tofas vs Turk Telekom Best Betting Tip and Prediction
Turk Telekom have been losing games at the start of the season, but in all four matchups they had a real chance to win, and none of their opponents were easy ones. Tofas impressed everyone with their victory over Fenerbahce, but afterward, some of this team’s limitations became evident. It might finally be time for Turk Telekom to get their first win, but in any case, we expect them not to lose against this handicap.
