Trey Lyles is an outstanding Canadian forward with an extensive career spanning college basketball, the NBA, and the EuroLeague.
This season, he emerged as Real Madrid’s best player, averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists during the regular season.
He then elevated his game at the Final Four, scoring 17 points against Valencia in just 23 minutes and following that up with 24 points and eight rebounds against Olympiacos.
Real Madrid is currently fighting to keep him on the roster, but the competition is fierce. According to Marca, Fenerbahce, Dubai, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Panathinaikos are all prepared to offer him 3 million euros per season.
Real Madrid does not have that kind of financial flexibility when it comes to Lyles, as matching such an offer would reportedly cost the club between 5 and 6 million euros due to Spain’s tax system.

The Madrid club is fully aware of that challenge, and it also knows that several NBA teams have expressed interest in Trey Lyles following his excellent season in Spain.
Lyles’ primary goal is a return to the NBA, where he previously played for the Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons, and Sacramento Kings before joining Real Madrid in 2025.
