Tuomas Iisalo has been appointed as the (interim) head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies after Taylor Jenkins was fired.
Taylor Jenkins had led the Grizzlies for the past six years and was considered a promising coach in whom the franchise’s leadership had full confidence.
Tuomas Iisalo has already earned a series of accolades in his coaching career, and his NBA engagement is now the “cherry on top.” He was named EuroCup Coach of the Year in 2024, FIBA Champions League Coach of the Year in 2023, French League Coach of the Year in 2024, and Bundesliga Coach of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
Throughout his coaching career, Iisalo has coached Tapiolan Honka, Crailsheim Merlins, and Telekom Basket Bonn. He arrived in Paris in the summer of 2023.
