Valencia won the Spanish clash against Real Madrid in Round 10 of the EuroLeague with a score of 89-76, while Panathinaikos defeated Paris 101-95 on the road.
Valencia finished the first half with a 5-0 run that took them from 45-38 to halftime, and that stretch would prove to be crucial. Throughout the entire third quarter, the game was played point for point until 63-60, when the hosts responded with another 9-0 run, after which they controlled the game without problems until the very end, securing their sixth EuroLeague victory of the season.
Omari Moore was Valencia’s top performer tonight with 16 points, while Darius Thompson and Nate Reuvers each had 14. Trey Lyles, with 23 points, was by far the most outstanding player for Real Madrid in the loss in this Spanish clash.
Paris and Panathinaikos played a true basketball beauty and a dramatic game that was decided in the final few minutes of the fourth quarter. Specifically, the back-and-forth scoring continued until the score was 87-88, when Kendrick Nunn hit a key three-pointer in the game, giving his team a four-point lead.
Derek Willis briefly brought Paris closer at 89-91, but T.J. Shorts responded immediately, restoring a two-possession advantage for Panathinaikos. This was followed by a missed shot from Nadir Hifi for Paris, and Dinos Mitoglou scored the dagger points, clearly signaling that the victory was going to Athens.
Nunn led Panathinaikos with 20 points, while Kenneth Faried and Mitoglou added 17 each. Justin Robinson stood out for Paris with 22 points.
