Valencia to open EuroLeague season at Besiktas
Valencia will begin their 2026-27 EuroLeague campaign on September 25, when they travel to Istanbul to face Besiktas in the opening round.
The game is scheduled for 7:00 PM CET, with Valencia then set to play their first home EuroLeague game four days later against Baskonia at Roig Arena.
The club will now host Crvena Zvezda in Round 16 on December 10 at 8:30 PM CET, one day earlier than initially scheduled.
Meanwhile, Valencia’s Round 25 trip to Bayern on January 28 will also remain on the same date, but the tip-off time has been moved from 8:30 PM to 8:00 PM CET.
Valencia coming off historic season
Valencia enjoyed a remarkable 2025-26 campaign, winning the Liga Endesa for the second time in club history and making their first-ever EuroLeague Final Four.
The Spanish side reached the Final Four after a memorable playoff series against Panathinaikos, overcoming the reigning champions 3-2 in the quarterfinals.
Their historic European run ended in the semifinals, where Real Madrid prevailed 105-90 in Valencia’s first appearance at the Final Four. The result still secured the club’s best-ever finish in the EuroLeague.
Roster changes
The historic season was followed by major changes to Valencia’s roster, with the club making several additions while also losing a significant number of players from last season’s squad.
Among the arrivals are T.J. Shorts, who signed a two-year contract, Dylan Osetkowski, Mario Saint-Supery, Gonzalo Corbalan and Mo Gueye.
Valencia have also added Lucas Mari, while Armoni Brooks joined the club on loan from Asvel. The Spanish side signed Elias Valtonen on a non-guaranteed deal and brought in Jasiel Rivero on a one-month contract.
At the same time, Valencia have seen a long list of departures. Oumar Ballo and Wildens Leveque were signed before being immediately loaned out, while Matt Costello, Joel Soriano, Brancou Badio, Jean Montero, Xabi Lopez-Arostegui, Sergio De Larrea, Jaime Pradilla, Braxton Key, Isaac Nogues and Darius Thompson all left the club.
