Valencia has officially parted ways with Chris Jones, terminating the remaining year of his contract by activating the release clause, the club announced on Tuesday.
The American point guard, who also holds an Armenian passport, spent three seasons with the Spanish side after arriving in the summer of 2023 from Asvel.
During his time in Valencia, Jones appeared in 183 games, posting averages of 12.2 points (39.1% from three), 2.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists for a 13.2 PIR.
Jones is very close to becoming the newest addition to Hapoel Tel Aviv, a team with big ambitions for the upcoming EuroLeague season, according to Basket News.
“Valencia Basket would like to thank Chris Jones for his professionalism, dedication, and hard work during the three seasons he has worn our jersey, and wishes him the best in his future, both professionally and personally.” the club stated in its farewell message.
The 32-year-old guard had a challenging final campaign, missing the preseason and the start of the year after undergoing surgery for a fractured right hand. He made his season debut on December 13 against Tenerife at La Fonteta.
In the recently concluded season, Jones featured in 48 games across Liga Endesa and the BKT EuroCup, averaging 10.7 points (36% from beyond the arc), 2.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists for a 12.3 PIR.
