Valencia vs Joventut Preview
Valencia have put together an outstanding season, and there is no doubt about that. Their campaign was highlighted by a trip to the EuroLeague Final Four, where they were eliminated by Real Madrid in the semifinals, while they also finished second in the Liga Endesa regular season. In the first round of the playoffs, they dispatched Bilbao without much trouble, sweeping the series 2-0. Now, they are looking to reach the finals through Joventut and currently hold a 1-0 series lead after a dramatic 118-117 overtime victory in Game 1. The season has already been excellent, but it would become truly historic if Valencia were able to capture the Liga Endesa title.
There is little doubt that winning the championship is their primary goal, especially considering that several key players and leaders are expected to leave the club this summer. Jean Montero is undoubtedly motivated to leave Valencia with a trophy, and he was the driving force behind the Game 1 victory, finishing with 27 points and eight assists. He also knocked down the two decisive free throws in the closing moments of overtime. Kameron Taylor delivered a tremendous performance as well, recording a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaime Pradilla contributed 16 points and eight rebounds. Brancou Badio scored 14 points but struggled with his shooting efficiency, going 4-for-10 from the field, while Braxton Key performed below his usual standards and shot just 2-for-9. As always, Valencia relied heavily on their deep rotation, maintaining a high pace throughout the game and gradually wearing down their opponent. That approach will likely remain the key to success in Game 2, especially considering the issues Joventut faces in that area.
The same cannot really be said for Joventut. They entered the playoffs as the sixth seed and failed to qualify for the FIBA Basketball Champions League Final Four. Adding to the disappointment, the Final Four was held in Badalona, meaning they would have had a chance to compete for the trophy on their home court had they qualified. Still, they managed to pull off a major upset in the Liga Endesa quarterfinals by eliminating Baskonia 2-1 in the series. They also pushed Valencia to the limit in Game 1 of the semifinals, eventually falling in overtime, and now they must find a way to respond.
Joventut led by one point with 20 seconds remaining in overtime and were defending a crucial possession, but Jabari Parker seemingly forgot that his team was already in the penalty. He committed a foul on Montero, sending him to the free-throw line for two shots. Only after the whistle did Parker appear to realize the mistake. Ricky Rubio delivered an outstanding performance with 22 points and 11 assists. Cameron Hunt added 19 points, while Parker also finished with 19. Interestingly, Parker shot 5-for-8 from three-point range but struggled inside the arc, making just one of his five two-point attempts. Joventut shot an excellent 18-for-37 from beyond the arc, committed only 10 turnovers, and converted 17 of their 21 free throws. Despite all of that, they still lost the game. That raises a major question heading into Game 2 and the remainder of the series: can they replicate that level of performance? If they can, they have every reason to believe they can compete. If not, they face an extremely difficult challenge against a confident and inspired Valencia team.
Valencia vs Joventut H2H
In the four head-to-head meetings between these teams this season, Valencia have been more successful, winning three of them. In the opening game of this playoff series, Valencia secured a narrow 118-117 overtime victory and currently hold a 1-0 lead in the series.
Injuries and Suspensions
For Valencia, Josep Puerto and Xabi Lopez-Arostegui are listed as questionable. On the other side, Ante Tomic will not be available for Joventut.

Valencia vs Joventut Best Betting Tip and Prediction
Valencia managed to win Game 1 despite a rather modest defensive performance, but what may be even more important at this stage of the series is that Joventut have a much shorter rotation, are playing without Ante Tomic, and will almost certainly feel the effects of fatigue in Game 2. Even though they played an excellent game in the series opener, they still came away with a loss. Because of that, we expect Valencia to impose their extremely fast pace from the start, wear down their opponent over the course of the game, and secure a victory by a margin greater than the one being offered. We also expect this matchup to look significantly different from the first game of the series.
