The New York Knicks completed an incredible comeback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.
The Knicks trailed by as many as 29 points at one stage of the third quarter, but they never gave up. They managed to claw their way back into the game and eventually secured the victory thanks to an OG Anunoby basket with 1.2 seconds remaining. It was also the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Before the Knicks, the largest comeback in NBA Finals history belonged to the Boston Celtics, who erased a 24-point deficit against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008.
The eight biggest comebacks in NBA Finals history:
- New York Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit against the San Antonio Spurs in 2026
- Boston Celtics overcame a 24-point deficit against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008
- Houston Rockets overcame a 20-point deficit against the Orlando Magic in 1995
- Dallas Mavericks overcame a 15-point deficit against the Miami Heat in 2011
- Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a 13-point deficit against the Miami Heat in 2012
- Miami Heat overcame a 13-point deficit against the Dallas Mavericks in 2006
- Chicago Bulls overcame a 13-point deficit against the Portland Trail Blazers in 1992
- Boston Celtics overcame a 13-point deficit against the Dallas Mavericks in 2024
This really highlights how significant the Knicks’ achievement is. Looking at NBA history in general, including the regular season, this is the 12th-largest comeback of all time, and the biggest ever was recorded by the Utah Jazz in 1996, when they erased a 36-point deficit against the Denver Nuggets.
If we look exclusively at the playoffs, this is the second-largest comeback of all time. The only team ahead of the Knicks are the Los Angeles Clippers, who in 2019 managed to overturn a 31-point deficit against the Golden State Warriors.
